Born in the region, which is well-known for gems, the artist, Chaminda Witharama was unveiled to the first light of life in a rural village called “Kolonna” situated in Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. Inspiration for painting was all around the atmosphere in his village from dynamic waterfalls to humungous trees to whistling birds.
